For my technology resource, I chose to do my presentation on a website called Edmodo. Edmodo is a website that can be used for educators to connect and collaborate with their students, parents, and other teachers. There are many uses for communication on this website along with several resources. It is an excellent way to have a digital classroom alongside your normal classroom. The website provides many options for the classroom.

ReplyDeleteI LOVED the resource that you shared! It reminded me a lot of Facebook, except with a totally educational purpose. Do you think this would be easily manageable for younger grades, such as 2nd and 3rd? Also, do you foresee parents having problems with their child using so much technology and "social media" for school? I absolutely plan on using Edmodo in my own classroom now- thank you so much for sharing this super neat resource!
Thank you for sharing this resource Katie! I like how you are able to collaborate with students and parents so easily through the internet. I understand your caution of inappropriate posts and feel this may be a concern with using this resource. I was also wondering what is the difference between the free and paid version. I can't recall whether you gave us this information or not. I know with my own kids their teachers have an internet based program to collaborate with parents and students and it is wonderful. I am curious to go check out this website and learn even more about it. Thanks again and great job!
